Hi, my name is Nicole and I have been running my loving licensed family childcare since February of 2004. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. My childcare experience first started in 1996, during my second year in college, when I found out I was going to have my first daughter. Being a single mother and working full time was tough, but I persevered and graduated from community college. It was also during this time that I worked in a childcare center specializing in the infant and toddler rooms. After community college, I decided to enhance my life and further my education. In 2000, I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Saint Martins College in Lacey. Graduating was a huge accomplishment considering I earned my degree while being a single mother, working full time and while raising my little girl.

You are probably wondering – why the sudden change in professions? My life changing experience happened in 2002, when I gave birth to my second child. My whole life turned upside down when my son arrived in this world with severe medical and genetic conditions. His conditions were so severe that he stayed in the hospital for 5 weeks before he was able to come home. By the time he was only a couple weeks old he had undergone two surgeries. One of these surgeries involved the placement of a gastrostemy tube into his stomach in order for him to feed. He suffered from seizures and had severe developmental delays. My son tried very hard but never was able to eat nor accomplish any of the developmental milestones a healthy baby should. In January of 2003, when Dante was 10 ½ months old, he passed away of kidney failure. It was a major shock to our family and was very hard for all of us, including his sister.

After his passing, I decided that I needed to dedicate my life to a more rewarding and fulfilling purpose. Hence, Little Tots Child Care was established to assist and provide quality childcare for families who need it. Since my son’s passing, I have given birth to two beautiful healthy children and am able to stay home with them while running my family childcare.
